On the surface, it appears that the SEC's recent amendments to Rule 14a-8 may eventually reduce the overall number of shareholder proposals that companies receive - but in reality, the shareholder proposal process will continue to drive shareholder engagement and governance developments, and limitations on submissions will make responsiveness even more important.
