The Corporate Counsel: March-April 2014 - Special Supplement

– No More Masks - by Heidi Wilson
– A Fine Career: Becoming a Lawyer - by Prof. Roberta Karmel
– Where Are All the Women M&A Dealmakers? - by Diane Holt Frankle
– My Career Reflections - by Cheryl Sorokin
– Diversity One: One Step, One Action, One Impact - by Sylvia Groves

  1. Theme - Networking opportunity with practical programming for those interested in corporate governance & the securities laws, particularly corporate disclosure. Here is the agenda.

  2. Attendees:
  3. - 100 Attendee Cap - Attendance will be capped at 100 women (including speakers). This keeps the event intimate. If you are not accepted, you can ask to be placed on a waiting list in case someone drops (and on a priority list for the following year).

    - Diversified Participants - Those interested should communicate their desire to register to Broc Romanek (info@ccrcorp.com). Registrations will be accepted based on factors ensuring diversity of age & job responsibilities. For example, there will be a rough split between in-house and law firm participants, with some investors mixed in. There will also be a mix of ages and experience. There will be no more than two persons from a single organization.

    - Participant Bios - Once registration is accepted, each attendee answers three short questions that provides a snapshot about who they are. This will be circulated to all attendees before the event so the group can get a sense of who is who - but not shared outside the group.

  4. Unique Networking:
  5. - Programming starts at 10 am and goes to 4:30 pm, with a reception commencing then and ending at 6 pm.

    - Before the first panel, there is a 15 minute slot so each person can introduce themselves to the group.

    - There is a group photo right before lunch.

    - There is a one-hour "speed friending" session in the afternoon - you will meet at least a dozen new people.

  6. Cost & Logistics:
  7. - Cost is $295 per person (includes lunch) - there is a "no refunds" policy.

    - The event will be held in the DC offices of Skadden Arps - 1440 New York Ave NW, Washington, DC 20005.

    - There are no special deals with nearby hotels. If you need a hotel, email Broc and he can provide a list.

    - There will not be any CLE credit available for any states.

*Thanks to Broadridge for sponsoring the lunch!
