Looming 409A Deadline: Large Group of Law Firms Plead for Postponement

Quite a few law firms have been sending memos to clients in recent days warning of the pitfalls of the upcoming 409A deadlines, which will require many companies to make changes to their deferred compensation arrangements. A few days ago, 92 of America’s most prominent law firms sent a letter to the IRS and Treasury asking that the 409A deadline get pushed back to the end of 2008.
